Postcards from Real Life: Perspective

I’m fascinated by how differently we all see the world in both the factual and artistic senses. We can all witness the same event and have a different story to tell. You can set loose a bunch of photographers in the same spot, they’ll all come up with vastly different compositions created with the same raw materials. In essence, we can look out the same window and see completely different things.

In many cases we equate different with being wrong instead of just allowing for an alternate point of view that isn’t any more or less than our own. I bet if you were to query the lady with the dog at Zapata Falls, she’d have a very different version of the story. So I leave you with this…

“For what you see and hear depends a good deal on where you are standing; it also depends on what sort of person you are.” ― C.S. Lewis, The Magician’s Nephew

The same window opens onto a different world for all who look out.
