I’ve talked a lot lately about how much I appreciate the connections I’ve made during my life as a blogger. I’ve made some great friends in various communities and I’ve learned a lot from some inspiring people. But today I get to return to my beloved Tremont to expand my Great Smoky Mountains knowledge through immersive, experiential education. (It’s not just for Fred and George, you know!)
What makes this place and experience so special is the contagious energy of instructors that are there because they love what they do, they’re very good at what they do, and they’re passionate about sharing their knowledge. You simply can’t beat the inspiration that comes from learning and working with great people.
The older I grow, the more I am convinced that there is no education which one can get from books and costly apparatus that is equal to that which can be gotten from contact with great men and women. ~Booker T. Washington
