It’s time to go back to Baja and take in the mañana spirit. Having gone from the challenges of frenetic travel this summer to very little at all while dealing with physical therapy and doctors, my traveling soul needs the balance of Baja. So tomorrow I cross the border to set life back in order. That my birthday again falls in that time is pure coincidence but a happy one.
As for the logistics of this adventure, it will be a short trip, one that balances investment with eating the cupcake. Sometimes it takes crossing a border into a different culture and mindset to rediscover how to achieve that balance. It’s the equivalent of pushing a giant reset button. Fortunately for me, I know what kind of travel does that best. Slow, relaxed travel. By motorcycle.
As I glide on two wheels towards being immersed in beauty and calm, I realize more and more how much I need this. As I get closer, I want to devour the serenity. The sounds, the smells, the roads, the people, the landscape. I’m hungry for it.
And tacos. I’m hungry for tacos. Real, Baja tacos.
Peace and tacos, friends. Cheers!
Here are some random memories from last year’s trip to whet your appetite for Baja!
