This week at Val in Real Life HQ was a happy one with our George turning 10. But while we were celebrating, a fellow outdoor mom blogger and her family were honoring the short life of their child. Two weeks ago, his life was taken in Mexico in an incident that is of the worst sort imaginable.

Those of us who’ve followed and admired this family from afar are heartbroken for them. No words seem appropriate but I felt it important to join in the voices of support and consolation. For Pedal Adventures and the rest of the Charrette family, I wish you solace.
