Last Saturday, Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville, Georgia unveiled it’s new Full Throttle exhibit. So I rode my groovy Moto Guzzi there to meet some fellow riders and check it out.
This new presentation explores the evolution and design of motorcycles. It’s a fitting addition to the museum’s existing permanent Science in Motion exhibition that spans the history of transportation from the first motorized bicycles through space travel.
Full Throttle includes some rare gems and they are beautifully preserved in this exhibit. The motorcycles shown cover a range of styles and stages of motorcycle development from the 1930s through the 1970s. The exhibit is small, holding only a dozen motorcycles, but they are really unique and intriguing. I hope you enjoy this brief look at them. And just for good measure, I’m throwing in some cool items from the Science in Motion exhibit as well. Enjoy!
Full Throttle…
Science in Motion…

Of course, my images don’t do the details of these machines justice so if you find yourself in the area, check it out. It’s a great stop, especially if you have a car, motorcycle, or transportation buff of any age in your crew. In addition to the rest of the truly wonderful offerings in the rest of the museum, including the amazing Weinman Mineral Gallery, it’s well worth it to spend a day at Tellus.
The Full Throttle exhibit runs through March 27, 2016.
And FYI, there is an Earthcache to be completed at Tellus for you geocaching types.
