Y’all are pretty aware by now that my dear man and I sold our house and went on the road full-time. You also know we’re experienced travelers in all the ways that we do it—by motorcycle, auto, RV, urban, backcountry, solo, family, etc.
So imagine our surprise when we dove headlong into this adventure and it went completely in the toilet. Not just a little. I mean, completely and utterly into the shitter in every way possible. And we’re still trying to crawl our way out of it. This was most definitely not in the brochure.
There’s no easy fix to our situation—or what I’ve come to call our “shituation”—especially since at the same time, the world in general also decided to go in the toilet as well. Boy did we pick the wrong year to become nomads!
But we have a sense of humor, even if it’s been tested to the nth degree over the last year. That’s what brought about this new project, Propane & Bourbon. It was named in an extensive fit of laughter one day when we realized what we most often go to town for as full-time nomads.
It’s a very different vibe than Val in Real Life and Sierra Mountain Passes. I hope you like it and follow along. There’s no end to the stories and mayhem as we navigate life from one happy hour to the next living in 200 square feet with an 85-pound dog.
See you around the campfire, friends!
